Patrick Swayze Dead

Popular actor Patrick Swayze, who started his career from Broadway as a dancer and then went on to achieve fame and stardom in Hollywood with hit movies like “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost,” has died.

Patrick Swayze died on Monday after battling cancer for two years. According to the star’s agent, Patrick Swayze died in his home with his family at his side.

Swayze was suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. This cancer is one of the most deadliest of all cancers. In 2008, the cancer had already spread to his livers.

Patrick Swayze was born in Houston on August 18, 1952. He started acting and dancing at quite an early age. His father was also in a show business you can say, performing as a champion rodeo cowboy. His mother owned a ballet studio.

“Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost,” were some of the biggest hits that Patrick Swayze starred in but soon after he suffered several career setbacks, including a battle with alcohol.

Attributing some of his problems with drinking to his sudden fame and the Hollywood lifestyle, he moved back to Texas with wife Lisa Niemi but worked in such films as “The Green Dragon” and “Donnie Darko,” both in 2001.

      I just got home from my birthday party with friends, as today is my 57th birthday and born and raised in Houston like my friend, Patrick. He was such a great actor and dancer.       I do not get to many movies but I saw Dirty Dancing several times as well as Ghost. They had wonderful stories and Patrick’s acting was subperb. He will truly be missed. Even our local newsman said it got him because he lost his wife recently from same cancer. My prayers go out to his family, but know he is in peace now.
