The Bering Strait bridge or Bering Strait tunnel, if ever constructed, would be a bridge or tunnel spanning the Bering Strait between Cape Dezhnev, Chukotka, Russia, and Cape Prince of Wales, Alaska, United States.
Another name suggested is Eurasia-America Transport Link. Whatever the name, the construction of such a bridge or tunnel would face unprecedented engineering, political, and financial challenges, and to date, no government has authorized the start of any planning or construction.
Nor it would any time soon given how busy US is in political/military activities around the world with economy and business taking a heavy toll right now.
What ever the state of union, just the idea of such a tunnel is akin to dreaming about landing on the moon.

Yeah, no kidding, Shima’s way out there. Such a project, I believe, would be great for the world economy, a “make work” project for all aspects of the construction and all subsequent support and planning industries. The man-power neccesary to accomplish such an undertaking is unfathomable, drawing from resources around the world, stimulating and building faith in the economy world-wide during the current global recession. I believe this would be the ideal time for humanity to prove its worthiness to itself and any supernatural authority which may or may not be watching that we can pull together and co-operate, without prejudice, on the global scale.
You guys realize that with this bridge you could drive your Land Rover from the tip of South Africa to the tip of South America – now there’s a land expedition on a global scale!!! I too believe this bridge may happen someday, but probably not in our lifetime.
