Enter The Realm Of Alternative Reality

Google is expanding its horizon and casting its net far and wide. In a business similar to Second Life, Google hopes to orchestrate more fantasizing on the Web.

With Lively, the company has launched a free service that allows users to interact in a 3 dimension software and gather together in communities [like banks, rooms, dorms etc.] using their avatars as alter egos for a chat.

Since its free, more and more people can jump on the bandwagon and experience it themselves what the alternative reality is all about.

To initiate this, user will have to install a piece of software on their machine.

The concept is quite interesting as so far we just had the means to experience two dimensional interaction using social networking sites like Facebook and Orkut.

Now imagine using the same social networking concept with your own avatars and you can be what ever you wanna be and do whatever you wanna do as your alter ego.
