Atheletes sometimes don’t just take drugs for performance enhancement. But sometimes, like regular folks, for recreational purposes as well.
Just heard it on the scanner that former figure skating champ Nicole Bobek has been busted on drug charges. And not just possession or intent to sell, but being part of a drug ring operation.
In one word, wow. What a fall from grace. Here you are representing your country and being a professional athlete. Next moment you are a low life drug peddling criminal.
Nicole Bobek is 31 years old and she made her first court appearance regarding the drug bust today. She basically is from Jersey but was arrested in Florida last week. Nicole Bobek was trying to sell the stuff up in Hudson County.
I have no sympathy for her and I hope the jury gives her the toughest punishment possible.

the same folks who are lining up to trash Nicole are lining up to kiss MJ’s bony derriere goodbye at 10 Gs per.
What’s MJ got to do with Nicole selling drugs? Don’t blame anyone but the person who made the choice to sell them. Which would be Nicole herself.
Of course it’s sad when someone gets arrested for being involved with illegal drugs–esp. beautiful former figure skating champions. Of course, the entire medical profession is addicted to promoting various drugs–drugs that very often do more harm than good. However, in this case, such drugs are “legal” and even advertised non stop in the media.
The problem is that one should ALWAYS know that no matter how much money you’re making, selling illegal drugs is ALWAYS a bad career choice. I am sad for Nicole and hope she can straighten out her life. Maybe she’ll only serve a few years and live out the rest of her life with dignity. One can only hope.

She’s still pretty hot—I’d do her, but not if she’s doing meth. That stuff is crazy bad.
First of all anyone that is in the skating world, knows this is not a surprise. Nicole was partying even back then, Not with meth but she loved to drink and party. Also for making money, the only money Nicole was making was by selling drugs, she has long left the professonal world of skating and touring and did not make enough to support her for a lifetime. That’s not an excuse, just pointing out she wasn’t rich before getting into selling drugs
