Lydia Guevara

I never thought this day would come. I have read quite a bit about the Latin guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara and his struggle for uplifting the poor masses in his country. Not to mention his collaboration with Fidel Castro. So here we had a guy who was basically fighting all his life out of jungles and living like a comrade.

Now Ernesto Che Guevara’s granddaughter is also in the media lime light and for something as an infamy. Lydia “Che” Guevara is posting nude, well almost semi-nude, for the benefit of raising awareness by PETA.

She loves animals which is a good thing but lately I am growing more and more skeptical about PETA. Fighting for better conditions and treatment of animals is a noble and moral crusade but criticizing a President because he happened to swat a irksome fly is pushing the envelope too far.

But anyhow, more on Lydia Guevara. In this particular semi-nude ad, Lydia Guevara is wearing camouflage pants, a red beret, and bandoliers of baby carrots while standing with one fist on her hip and the other outstretched.

Besides the name nothing much to care about. What do you think all those commie greats like Che, Fidel, Len

in, Stalin etc. would be thinking if they saw such a thing.

a Latina version of Paris Hilton – unworthy of the Guevara name…

What makes one worthy of the Guevara name? Following in the footsteps of her murdering thug of a grandfather?

Such a frivolous and thoughtless comment of yours. Guevara was a soldier, and as such he killed enemies in combat. He also executed enemy soldiers. Calling him a murderous killer, you compare him with sadists that unscrupulously are set to kill innocent children and women, and further plan the bombing of foreign nations. Guevara never killed the innocent.

Look, sometimes to get the message across, a bit of (skin) and attention-seeking is the root of an advertising campaign. It’s for worth-while cause and if we analyse the message – the carrots replacing bullets is kind of contrary to the life Che, her grandfather, lived. Revolution of a different kind!
