Just heard it over the news. In a scene right out of Hollywood, two helicopters on medical duty collided in mid air in Arizona. This is definitely bound to get the Federal Aviation on their tail.
In one helicopter, all three occupants were killed. From the other, three were reported in critical condition and receiving emergency treatment near the Flagstaff hospital.
From what has been reported so far, no one got injured on the ground when the choppers fell. At present the cause of crash or rather collision is not known.
In spite of the latest gadgetry and gizmos available to mankind, stuff still happens.

Actually, three were killed in one copter - pilot, flight nurse, and patient. Three out of four were also killed in the other copter - pilot, medic, and patient. The one survivor is the flight nurse, and she is in critical condition. Three members of the ground EMS team were wounded when the second helicopter exploded after the crash. Two remain hospitalized in stable condition.

This wasn’t a scene from a movie!!! My God! It was a real event - get a clue. Can you be any more insensitive?

Anony, it was not my intention to come off sounding like what you interpreted it as. The course of events involved deadly pyrotechnics and scale that is usually shown in movies.

A good friend of mine died in that crash. He was a flight paramedic on one of the helicopters. If only it really were a scene right out of Hollywood, then he and six other people would still be alive today.
BTW, the flight nurse that initially survived was male. He died yesterday.
