Going to entertainment parks is a popular activity during summers as the schools are closed and weather is also favorable for such family outings.
If you will be heading to the Disney parks for the first time, don’t forget to use their FastPass system which would enable you to spend less time waiting in lines and more time enjoying the rides.
Disney’s FASTPASS allows guests to make ‘reservations’ for a popular ride to avoid waiting in long lines.
The Fastpass system is a virtual queuing system created by the Walt Disney Company which was introduced for the first time in 1999, although the idea of a ride reservation system was first introduced in world fairs.
Fastpass allows guests to avoid long lines at the attractions on which the system is installed, freeing them to enjoy other attractions during their wait. The service is available at no additional charge to all park guests.
Fastpass tickets can be had by working on the machines installed outside each attraction that accepts them. The guest inserts his/her park ticket into a reader on the machine. The machine then returns the admission ticket and a Fastpass ticket will be printed. This ticket will show the time at which the guest may enter the special priority line at that attraction. The time period given is normally one hour for rides, and 15 minutes for theatrical presentations. It will also show when another Fastpass can be obtained.
