Chiquita Tate
Chiquita Tate was an attorney by professional who met a sad end at the hands of her husband. (Yet to be convicted though). The couple had been married for about a year and some months when this happened.
Chiquita Tate collegues describe her as somebody who was tenacious and always put up a spirited defense to protect her clients in the court of law. However her own spiritied defense could not protect her or save her life from her own husband.
Her husband Harris has been taken into custody and will be charged in due course of time.
Although Tate was the one who fell head over heals in love with Harris, she had been the one planning for a divorce soon showing the marriage was fractured.
As to why specifically Harris committed this incident, the police are yet to investigate and find out. The lawyer hired by the husband had this to say – my client is innocent and the police have the wrong person.
Did you happen to know Chiquita Tate or knew somebody who knew her? What do you make out of this incident? Give a shoutout below.

Step back a second. She was killed in her office not at home
where most domestic violence takes place.
The Police might have jumped the gun, and took the easy
road by grabbing the husband. Would not be the first
time they did it.
Murder is murder, nothing domestic about it!
Is it possible that her murder is connected to the high
profile murder case she was working on?
The couple’s marriage license is dated January 10, 2008, just two and a half weeks after the domestic violence report. Based on this info, Mr. Harris has a history of violence against Mrs. Tate.
Chiquita was my former college classmate. Although she and I had lost touch with each other, I am still deeply saddened to hear about her tragic end allegedly at the hand of her estranged husband. She was in a profession that gave “voice” to victims of crimes…yet the man whom she loved (allegedly) took her own “voice.”
Jumped the gun? What, was he supposed to drag her back to the hosue to muder her? She lived in her own apartment, in planning for divorce, he was picked up outside her of office and said he was there “looking” for her. He had injuries to his hands and forearms and they found the victim’s and accused’s blood on a bleach bottle (DNA destroyer – pays to be married a criminal defense lawyer) at the house where he lived and in his ‘Benz. Jumped the gun? Give me a break. What I don’t get is wht she married his carpenter’s ass AFTER she had to call the cops on him. Red flag, big red flag, women! Oh, and she was killed JUST AFTER she left, when most such murders occur.
I KNEW CHIQUITA WHEN SHE RESIDED IN ATLANTA, WE WERE VERY GOOD FRIENDS. LEARNING ABOUT HER DEATH SHOCKED ME. AS A PERSON WHO IS INVOLVED IN A DOMESTIC VIOLENT REALATIONSHIP. IT MAKES ME WANT TO GET OUT AND DO SOMETHING. I WANT HELP!!
It’s still unbeliveable to me . . . . I was with Chiquita, at the courthouse in downtown Baton Rouge, less than 24-hours before she was murdered. She helped me over the years more than I can express. Her loss leaves a deep void in the legal system and in her beloved community. Her homegoing celebration was a beautiful tribute to a wonderful and Christian person. I feel so blessed to have been priviliged enough to have her as a friend!
I believe it is important that people be sensitive about the way that they choose to discuss her life with regards to choosing a husband. It is very silly to beleive that she chose this man and should have known that he would kill her. She made a poor choice for a mate but she was an outstanding person. Her desire in life was to give everyone a voice to speak regardless of stature. She and I were best friends all through college and roommates at different points in our lives. Please consider her family and friends before you casually discuss her as if she was not a real person. I loved her To the person that is presently in a violent relationship please allow God to speak to you. What happen to Chiquita can happen to anybody. Use the people around you that love you to get as far away from him as you possibly can.
Chiquita and Greg were very much in love. The apartment she was leasing was being leased to someone else. Why did the police only look at her husband? Why did they not look at others involved in the high profile case? She had information on two judges that were corrupt and will be exposed. Why is her husband still saying that he is not guilty. Who is Byron Sharpe? Who is Robert Moses? Why has a family member fled town the day after her funeral? WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE FOR THE HUSBAND????
