Even those who have no clue about the slow down in US economy are quite well aware about how expensive the groceries are getting, as well as the price of the fuel it takes to to reach that grocery store. (Incidentally gas price is the favorite conversation subject these days).

The spike is so high that those who used to spend freely now think twice and compare prices to get the best bargain.

Fortunately, the Internet is making it easier for buyers to check out various deals available on groceries and restaurant combos.

In addition to coupons that can be found online and printed out, many store ads are now on the Internet and comparison-shopping Web sites make it easier to assess which stores are offering the best deals.

Despite all the online help, it still takes some time to surf around for the best prices and plan purchases based on the best sales. Heck, it could even be a full time job for some.

I have listed some popular online savings site which give you an insight into kind of basement deals and bargain offers available.

Coupons.com, CouponMountain.com and Eversave.com are some of the most popular coupon destinations.

CouponMom.com, which tracks grocery-store sales and pairs them with available coupons to bring the price down even more, has already seen traffic more than double in 2008 compared with last year.

Even though online sites for coupons are popular when it comes to buying groceries, 80% of the savings lie in those paper coupons available with the newspaper or in the grocery store.

There are manufacturers sites where give discounts, bargains and coupons. The recommended policy is to sign up with them. So from now on any deal that is available, you get an email promptly telling you about it.

T.G.I. Friday’s, for example, offers a free appetizer or dessert if a customer signs up for its free “Give Me More Stripes” program at Fridays.com

Even better deals can be found at Restaurant.com, which sells $25 gift certificates for $10. Enter the site through a link on CouponMom.com, and the price may go down even more. At present, the $25 gift certificate can be bought for $6 through the CouponMom.com site.

Hi Sita, long time. Do you mean a google search engine specific to these sites?

That would be a good idea but right now I don’t think I will have the time for that. Maybe some day during the weekends.
