Tiger Woods Wins US PGA In Sudden Death

Some amazing golf out there! One of the best golf tournaments I have ever seen with such a thrilling win. This is the third win for golf maestro Tiger Woods who was nothing short of prowling on the greens.

Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open in a sudden-death playoff against Rocco Mediate on Monday afternoon at Torrey Pines in the beautiful city of La Jolla, California. (pronounced as La Hoya, its spanish).

I have been to this city, its couple of hours drive from Orange county. One of the most beautiful downtown ever. Its classy and sophisticated with most of the big brands having their fronts over there.

Coming back to golf, Woods parred No. 7 – the first sudden-death hole – after he made a birdie putt at No. 18 to erase Mediate’s one-stroke lead and extend the playoff.

The two golfers ended regulation play Sunday tied when Woods sank a birdie putt on the last hole. Under U.S. Open rules, that forced an 18-hole playoff round on Monday.

This is something like the penality shoot-out that soccer has in case both the teams are tied up in the end.

Go Tiger!

Golfing season had a thrilling start. Other major championships to watch out for in the golf season are the Masters, the British Open and the PGA Tournament.
