Steve Carell just brought a local community store in a quaint little village in Massachusetts and the reasons were primarily emotional rather than business. Actually the store was going out of business and practically everybody knows that such small mom and pop stores are not just business places but impart a sense of community in small places.
So Stevel Carell came to know from his sister in law Tish Vivado that the store was up for sale and since Steve was always interested in being part of the community, he purchased the store and gave it to his sister in law for handling day to day business.
The funnyman also mentioned that he would be manning the cash register and stock the shelves as time permits.
But for the time being he is looking to give the business a little TLC. Steve’s sister in law however is ecstatic and says that its her dream job which would allow her to spend more time with her family while working in the environment she loves.

Yeah, I heard about that on our local news last night (which is kind of weird because Boston is ~150 miles away from where I live in CT), but I think that’s really cool. He bought it for a great reason, and I wish more people would do that. Knowing that he might be there sometimes makes me want to hang out in Massachusetts more often.
The article says he’s a part-time resident of that town. I didn’t think they ever really went back to MA other than to visit family. Interesting.
