Parthenogenesis is derived from Greek and it is an nonsexual form of breeding found in females where growth and development of embryos or seeds occurs without any impregnation by a male. The progeny created by parthenogenesis are always a she in species where the XY chromosome system ascertains the gender of the offspring.
Parthenogenesis occurs by nature in some living varieties, including most lower plants, a Kalanchoe succulent plant found mostly in South Africa, other creatures like water fleas, aphids, some bees, birds, scorpions and sharks etc.
