The newest Coen brothers flick, Burn After Reading, is a twisted tale of divorce, cheating, the CIA and extremely bizarre sex toys.  Starring George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton and Brad Pitt, it has no shortage of big names. What it does have a shortage of, however, is entertainment.
Although it was in the top five movies in its opening weekend, this film failed to hold my attention. There were many pointless scenes, and some of the characters were downright annoying.
Osbourn Cox (Malkovich) has just lost his job with the CIA, and is being divorced by his wife, Katie (Swinton). He decides the only thing to do is write a memoir. His plan goes awry when two gym employees end up with his files. They come up with a blackmail plot to get money for the return of the information. Meanwhile, it seems that everybody is cheating on their spouses and running around like fools trying to get their lives in order. The end is a big mind warp though. The problem is the slow stuff viewers must battle through to get to it.
