The McCain camp seems to be breaking into a civil war and is looking for a scape goat to blame anyone but themselves for the miserable failure of the senators campaign. So who do you think is their favorite whipping punching bag?

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, on a “demoralized” McCain campaign: “Palin is going to be the most vivid chapter of the McCain campaign’s post-mortem. …

Those loyal to McCain believe they have been unfairly blamed for over-handling Palin.

They say they did the best they could with what they got.” ***In convo with Playbook, a top McCain adviser one-ups the priceless “diva” description, calling her “a whack job”

They’re missing the point, McCain was taking a dive before they enlisted Palin, Palin gave him a boost, without her the campaign was heading straight down. On the other hand, they are probably lower overall because of Palin then they would have been had McCain made a more responsible choice. We will never know.
