A brush fire has turned to ashes almost 100 acres in Newport Beach and county administrators have finally ordered nearby homes evacuated.
Newport Beach Fire Department says four helicopters are dropping water and 15 firefighting units are battling the blaze, which broke out Monday afternoon off Bonita Canyon Road.
NBFD says homes in the neighborhood east of San Miguel Drive are being evacuated. At this point I am not aware how many homes or people were affected.
