Yoko Ono –Beatles iTunes Deal a Long Way Off

Yoko Ono says the Beatles iTunes deal is a long way off.  The 77 year old widow of John Lennon, who was blamed for the band’s breakup, is a ¼ equal shareholder in Apple Corps, the holding company with rights to the Beatles’ tunes.  However, Apple Corps has nothing to do with Apple, Inc the digital behemoth that owns iTunes.

There’s a few sticking points that all with rights to the music agree to.  Despite the fact that legal issues between the two entities stemming from a common name have been worked out, there’s been no deal on the Beatles becoming available via iTunes.

As some iTunes users point out, those who want to listen to the Beatles on their iPods can simply slip their CD’s into their computers and move the tracks to iTunes. Just because there’s no deal doesn’t mean that you can’t jam to John, Paul, George, and Ringo on your personal device.
