Pinta Island Tortoise – the last of its kind. The was once a time when there used to be plenty of this particular species found around the Galapagos Island. Over the past 100 years, however, humans and their harmful activities have managed to literally knock this reptile off of the planet. There is now only one known Pinta Island Tortoise left on this planet who has been appropriately named “Lonesome George” by researchers working in the area. George’s age has been placed between 60-100 years at this point in time.
It seems we humans have done it again, we’ve managed to kill another species almost entirely just to make our lives prettier, safer and fuller. It’s high time we began looking at how we’re living our lives and what we’re doing to the environment. If we do not take the threat of global warming seriously  then there might be a day where we’ll kill every living thing on this planet, including ourselves perhaps.
