TMZ revealed early Sunday that a lawsuit was filed by “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada against the wife of another basketball player, Vanessa Davis (wife of Ricky Davis), in connection to the naked pictures “leaked” to the internet in April. Â In papers obtained by TMZ, Evelyn Lozada alleged that Vanessa Davis not only tapped into her e-mail and stole her topless pictures (which soon became widespread on the internet), but she also smeared her reputation on the internet.
In the lawsuit, Evelyn Lozada claimed that Vanessa Davis began writing on a gossip blog about her, calling her a “high end prostitute,” a “drunkard,” and a “hoe ass.” Â She even accused Lozada of neglecting her own daughter. Â Even worse, the documents allege that Vanessa Davis hacked into Lozada’s e-mail account, stole her topless pictures and “leaked” them online. Â In short, Lozada accused Vanessa Davis of internet stalking.
The “Basketball Wives” drama began in April when Evelyn Lozada’s naked topless pictures showed up on The YBF.com website. Â The eight “leaked” pictures were obviously self-taken and, according to the website, supplied to them by a “former bed buddy” of Lozada’s, insinuating that the “Basketball Wives” star had sexted the pictures.
But Evelyn Lozada was being harassed through her e-mail. Â She told Vibe magazine that it really got bad when the anonymous harasser hacked into her e-mail and threatened to “make money” off of her . Â The unknown hacker then began sending messages to Lozada’s 17-year-old daughter, masquerading as Lozada. Â As a result, the FBI was brought in to investigate.
Evelyn Lozada told Vibe magazine that she and her “Basketball Wives” colleagues did a little detective work on their own.  According to Lozada, fellow castmember Suzie Ketcham, who happened to be friends with the person that Lozada suspected was the source of her internet problems, was used as a spy.  Although she did not disclose the name of the suspected person to Vibe, Evelyn Lozada said, “I don’t know why she’s doing it. Nothing has ever happened between us. I think some people really are just jealous.â€
But between the Vibe interview and filing the lawsuit, jealousy apparently seemed motive enough for Lozada to take action. Â She claimed Vanessa Davis was out to “ruin her reputation” and that she (Lozada) was the victim of a picture stealing, e-mail hacking, reputation smearing revenge plot. Â Lozada claimed that it was all due to Davis not getting chosen to be part of the cast of “Basketball Wives.”
Professional basketball wives jealousy…
In her own defense, Vanessa Davis told TMZ that she planned to “counter-sue for defamation as her lawsuit has no merit and I am positive she has no evidence against me for said claims.”
