Lawrence Taylor’s wife, Lynette, seems to believe that the football all-star is being set up. Â She told TMZ that the timing of the airing of the A & E documentary “Fame and Recovery” and Lawrence Taylor’s arrest for suspicion of rape of a 16-year-old was not a coincidence. Â She maintains that the charges against her husband are “all bulls**t.”
Lynette Taylor, Lawrence’s third wife, believes there is a tie-in between the the documentary, which she said made Lawrence Taylor look like a “monster,” and the allegations made by the 16-year-old girl that told police she had sex with Taylor. Â However, TMZ noted that Lynette did not go into detail as to what the connections were or why anyone would want to frame her husband.
But that was her stance in the hours just after Lawrence Taylor’s arrest.
According to the New York Times, the 16-year-old runaway texted her uncle that she was with her pimp and was being brought back to the Bronx. Â She gave their destination and the uncle notified the N.Y.P.D. Â Police arrested her alleged pimp and the girl told them she had just returned from a trip where she had been delivered to Lawrence Taylor’s hotel room. Â The N.Y.P.D. called the Ramapo Police and asked them to arrest Taylor.
The 16-year-old’s alleged pimp, Rasheed Davis, was also arrested. Â He has been charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
In light of these details, it is unknown if Lynette Taylor still believes her husband is being set up.
